Paso poll power

Tribune file photo by Joe Johnston

The who's-going-farthest-in-the-playoffs poll closed yesterday, and you can see the results.

With 42 percent of the votes, Paso Robles is your most likely team to make a deep postseason run. The Bearcats were neck and neck with Atascadero for the first week of the poll, but voting for the Greyhounds seemed to cool off with the loss to Righetti.

"Other" also got a huge show of support. Most specified others votes went to San Luis Obispo, who can lock up the PAC 7's final Northern Division playoff spot with a win over Arroyo Grande — the team to get the second most "other" votes — this week.

A Tigers loss puts A.G. in, and Eagles boosters have already conjured memories of when they won a Division III section title as the No. 16 seed in 1997.

Since having clinched its first playoff berth in program history, Nipomo got a couple of "other" votes as did Mission Prep and Templeton — two teams that have already been eliminated from the postseason.

But the big understatement was Morro Bay's lack of support. The Pirates are still ranked No. 1 in the section, and the numbers say they'll make a deep run.

I guess Morro Bay fans were too busy flooding our phone lines last week (when we accidentally called them "Eagles" in a headline. oops.) to go online and vote.

But enough about the playoffs, let's turn our attention to rivalry week!

Alright we all know this poll is inaccurate....since you can revote as many times as you want....some paso fan who has too much time on there hands, just sat there for a day and revoted!!!....so unfortunately the Paso Poll Power PLUG will have to be pulled!...that sucks!

the program i used for the poll said it blocks IP addresses after one vote. i never vote so i didn't really check it out. are you saying YOU voted more than once, atown!!?

ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew

It's easy to vote more then once, just acquire a new IP address and vote again.

Paso fans are smart too.

I would have voted for Morro Bay if I could have voted for 1 in each league. I think most people voted for PAC-7 teams, I did. SLO got my vote based on their past performance. 2 rounds of playoffs last year and 3 rounds in 2004.

My vote for who goes the farthest is whoever finishes 2nd in the PAC 7. Last year, SLO placed second and was the only PAC 7 team to win a playoff game. Two years ago, AG placed second and was the only PAC 5 team to win a playoff game. Three years ago, SLO placed second and was the only PAC 5 team to win a playoff game.

Wow let the excuses start flowing "ATOWN"!!!!!

yes scrogg...after seeing paso had an unusual amount of votes...compared to how many people actually come to this blogg page....I went back to the poll and revoted until atown was back on top....but after big cat 02 went crazy with it I said, F it i'm not playing big cat '02's game!

....so it looks like fat cat 02 can't handle the truth over a little poll that doesn't even matter....I wonder if maybe he/she can't handle the truth that atown is better than paso!?! :)

What makes you think i would even do something like that? For your info I only needed to vote once! If you don't count my vote you still lost by.....430 vote! Why are you pissin and moaning if it doesn't matter? Some class act you are! Sure you're the pride of ATOWN!

There aren't 430 people in Paso that know how to use a computer...
It must be rigged.

But there are 430 trailer parks in Atascadero... opps I forgot you guys call them neighborhoods in ATOWN!(Atrascadero)
Population: White trash

.....LMAO....fat cat....1/2 of all of paso is trashy....maybe 1/4 of atown is trashy....so your just making paso look bad as usual!

The AG Eagles are peaking at the right time...

They will bruise and batter San Luis on Friday night, and then make a strong playoff run behind their sophomore QB Clark Goosen...

Calling the MB Pirates the Eagles was a bad omen for MB...

It's winnin' time!

Come on "eagle rule" saying you will bruise and batter SLO sounds like preschool babble. On this blog your trash talk has to be better then that. Go back to AG and don't show up here again until you grow up. AG doesn't even fill their stands during a game. So you beat a worn out Righetti team. Big deal. Go away.

Hey I for one admire that AG is still fighting

Anonymous said...

True. But Batter and bruise sounds like your making Thanksgiving dinner.

Let's see North County Bounty, Righetti punks Atascadero, dares them to pass, and they can't.

Then A.G. knocks Righetti out of the playoffs, IN THEIR OWN HOUSE!

And now, AG will run all over the Tigers, playing the smashmouth football they have been known for for 20 years, and just like that, in a year where everybody had counted them out, the Eagles will be in the playoffs, A-gain!

You're right about the bruise and batter quote, I guess I was being too PC.

How 'bout this...San Luis will have their ASSES handed to them on Friday Night, and they can join Righetti as they watch CIF football games from the stands...

Now that's hatred........
